Welcome to second grade! I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State way back in 1986 - when we still used typewriters. My Master’s degree was earned in Curriculum & Instruction from National-Louis University in 1992. Prior to teaching at Spring Avenue, I taught 2nd grade in Lake Zurich for 6 years. I have been at Spring Avenue since 1994. Here I have taught 3rd grade, Accelerated Math and Advanced Reading in the Advanced Academics department, and 1st grade. I am excited to be teaching 2nd grade at Spring Avenue.

I am beginning my 24th year of teaching and am excited to be back at Spring Ave (my first position 21 years in D105). I have a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Rockford University. I’ve been married to my husband, Jim, for 14 years and we have a 12year old daughter, Gabby, who just started middle school in Elmhurst. I’m looking forward to a full year of in person learning and teaching!
