    Hodgkins School Family Book Club

Do you love reading? Do you love talking about great books with friends and family? If you said yes, then you will love the Hodgkins School Family Book Club.  HSFBC is offered to students in grades 4-6 and their families.  Students commit to reading the book with their family and then join us for a fun-filled, action packed evening!  This is HSFBC's 13th year and we are thrilled to offer two celebration evenings that are sure to delight.

Are you wondering how it works?  We begin the evening with a discussion about the book in a roundtable format. Students, staff, community members, and families all relax and enjoy a casual discussion about characters, plot, favorite parts, personal connections, and much more.  We also enjoy food related to the story while we chat.  Usually this is followed by a surprise activity related to the story. We have solved crimes, run obstacle courses, completed puzzles, made crafts, performed skits, watched movies, and played games. Every single part of the evening is designed to tie to the story.  The books we choose are kept secret until we reveal them about 4 weeks before the celebration evening.

HSFBC is a wonderful opportunity for students, staff and families to have fun, be involved and celebrate reading.  It's a unique club that is always a favorite at Hodgkins School.  We hope that you have a chance to join us for at least one of these special evenings.
