Welcome First Grade Families!
My name is Ms. Crystal, and I am so excited to teach your first grader! I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College. Additionally, I have received my Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction with ESL endorsements from Concordia University Chicago.
My teaching philosophy is based on the belief that learning comes from the relationships we build with each other within and outside of classroom walls, and that vulnerability allows for social and emotional growth as we continue to grow as individuals and as a unified community. I believe that working collaboratively with students will develop their agency as thinkers, learners, and individuals.
My goal as an educator is to be present alongside my students everyday in order to help students recognize their own potential and succeed beyond it! Learning alongside my students makes each day unique and exciting.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending my time with family, friends, and the outdoors.
