Plank Challenge?
Posted by: Mrs. RayJust curious if anyone started to do the plank challenge I posted in my blog last week? I'd love to hear about it if you have- so leave me some feedback. I'll try to post more challenges to give you all options. Challenges are a great way to stay motivated. Especially if you have someone trying to complete the challenge with you! Let me know what you think!

What do you miss the most?
Posted by: Mrs. RayToday the workout of the day is an aerobics workout with Jenny Ford! If you are an 8th grader and were here last year, you will remember when we did a short step aerobics unit. With very fond memories, you should remember the series of videos we followed- Step Across America with Jenny Ford. I know you all LOVED these videos so much! So, in the spirit of missing this unit and learning remotely, today, what I want to know is...what do you miss the most about being at school? Like, physically being in the building of Gurrie Middle School?
When I think about physically being at Gurrie right now, I think of my students of course! I really do miss seeing your faces and talking to you all. I love to hear about things that are going on in your lives...I even miss the drama that I hear in the locker rom, believe it or not. I miss my little comfy office. I really miss my co-workers and friends! I really love my family, but I'm missing adult interactions with others. Meeting virtually is GREAT, BUT, there's nothing like seeing each other in person!
On this sunny, but freakishly cold, remote learning Thursday in April, I want to hear what you miss about physically being in school.

What am I missing?
Posted by: Mrs. RayNow that I've been posting a daily workout for a few weeks now, what is something you haven't seen posted (a form/type of exercise/workout)? If you can't think of something I haven't posted, what is something you'd like to see more of? On the other hand, give me some feedback on things you haven't enjoyed so much? Here's your chance to tell me what you're thinking!!!

Yoga or Pilates???
Posted by: Mrs. RayAfter completing today's workout, you will have had an opportunity to complete a beginner yoga workout and a beginner pilates workout. After experiencing both forms of exercise, which one do you prefer and why?
I love both, however, I really love pilates. I am a real fan of any form of exercise that, without even realizing it, can give you a great cardio workout while also improving your muscular strength/endurance, flexibility, improve core strength, PLUS relieve stress, and just make you feel darn right great, all in a safe, non-threatening way! My favorite part is that pilates does all of this, all at once, without you even realizing it. After I complete a pilates workout, I feel great. I sort of view pilates like I do Target...it's a one stop shop! You can get anything and everything at Target, just like you get everything when you do pilates! :)
