Hello! My name is Angie Ramey and I serve Grades 3-6 at Seventh Avenue Elementary and Ideal Elementary in D105. I am entering my 23rd year of teaching, and my second year in D105 as an Advanced Academics ELA Specialist. Currently, I am working on my MA in Teacher Leadership and Cultural Compentency from The University of Iowa, and I have an MA in Curriculum & Instruction, endorsements in Middle School Language Arts and Talented and Gifted, as well as a BA in Elementary Education from The University of Iowa. Most recently I have taught in Plainfield as a 5th Grade Accelerated/Honors teacher, and Wilmette D39 as a Differentiation Teacher.
My husband and I live in New Lenox with our dog Molly, and three cats: Peep, Meetsie, and Doodle. All of our children are either in college or married, so we are empty nesters and enjoy going to concerts, or riding our bikes for miles and miles across the Midwest, including across the state of Iowa for RAGBRAI- the world's largest, longest, oldest touring bike ride. This summer we even got to ride our bikes in Canada along the Niagara River! This school year, I will be at Seventh Avenue on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and at Ideal on Thursday and Friday. I am so thrilled to begin our year together, and await the many adventures with new and exciting characters from places we know, and places we have yet to discover.
Go Hawkeyes!
