Gurrie Cross Country

Tigers,
Welcome to another year of Gurrie cross country! To join our Parent Square group, follow this link: Parent Square Cross Country Group. We'll be communicating exclusively through that group, so enroll and spread the word.
Attached to our Parent Square group is this year's calendar. There will be follow-up messages with particular details for each of the Saturday-Invitational races, so stay tuned for those. In the meantime, please take note: ALL RUNNERS NEED AN UPDATED SPORTS PHYSICAL ON FILE TO PRACTICE. Our first official team practice is Thursday, August 21st for 7th & 8th graders. 6th graders will start that following Monday, August 25th.
As far as summer running goes, here's the outline:
- Monday, August 4th-Thursday, August 7th
- Monday, August 11th-Thursday, August 14th
- All practices are 7-8AM @ Sedgwick Park (sand volleyball courts)
- Bring water, running shoes and a smile
- We'll communicate weather cancelations through Parent Square, so please encourage new runners to enroll in our Parent Square group
- In the meantime, be sure to get at least 30 minutes of light running 3-4 days a week until we start. Speed doesn't matter as much until you can run (or jog) for 30 minutes without walking. Be sure to stretch, hydrate, ice, and run with a partner (or group). Two weeks of light workouts will build stamina and get the routine going. Do it.
