2026-2027 Cross Country

Schedule & Spirit Wear
See the attached schedule below. Our first pre-season "summer running" is Monday, August 3rd. We meet Monday-Thursday 7-8AM for the first two weeks of August. Meet at the Sedgwick Park sand volleyball courts on East Avenue. Bring water bottles.

Here's the link for our spirit wear store

Represent Gurrie XC around town with our "RUN GMS" gear. There's rope hats, hoodies, tees, pants, bags, and all sorts of cool stuff. We'll keep the store up until Tuesday, August 5th for the first "merch drop". that puts the first order in before our first meet on Saturday, August 22nd. We'll then have another round with a drop around mid-September.

Sports Physicals

All runners require an updated sports physical on file to participate. Please schedule these ASAP as runners cannot practice without one. Our "summer running" those first weeks of August are considered pre-season so the physical needs to be filed by Thursday, August 20th (first official practice). Our first race is Saturday, August 22nd, so it all comes up quick. Message me to check dates on expiring physicals. Some from last year may carry over a month or two so you may have wiggle room. Either way, they'll need a new this year so please get on that.

6th Grade Runners

ALL 6th graders are welcome to participate in full. An activity bus will bring runners to Gurrie from their elementary schools. We need to have a parent/guardian consent to get on the bus so keep an eye out for that form. The first day of practice is Thursday, August 20th.

Shoes & Water Bottles

Please do your best to get these kids in proper running shoes. It's our only piece of equipment and they impact feet, knees, and overall physical health during the season. We recommend Peak Running in La Grange & Burr Ridge for local options. They can give good feedback on which shoe works best. They don't need to be expensive, just properly fit running shoes. Reach out with questions or concerns. We can help. West Suburban Harriers get a discount there, too.
