Thank you to all of you who were able to attend these great events; we sincerely appreciate your support. Here are the Friday Folder Announcements for this week! First on Wednesday, February 21st from 6:30-7:30 I have asked the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) to give a free presentation on how to save money on your electricity bill and support the environment. There is no obligation to attend, but it's a great way to support the environment and save some money! Also and the D105 Dash is right around the corner. If you are interested in volunteering to help support these events, please let me know with a simple phone call or email. Hello Ideal Panther Families! Thank you again for another great week at Ideal! This week we saw teachers model their love of literacy in the teacher Battle of the Books! Students will get their turn on Wednesday, February 7th when 4th-6th graders will participate in the student Battle of the Books! This event fosters a love of literacy through a friendly competition that stresses reading comprehension. It's just another one of the awesome traditions that is part of the D105 Difference! I also want to invite any parents that are available to attend our next PTO meeting which is at 8:15 am on Monday, February 5th in the Ideal Library. We sincerely hope that you can attend and there will be someone there to provide translation services for those who need them. We are getting excited to plan lots of exciting events for the rest of the year. Also, don't forget that Parent Conferences are just two weeks away and we are looking forward to seeing everyone here to work together on your students academic progress. Thank you all for your support and participation in our school community. It is my pleasure and privilege to be your principal. Hello Ideal Families! Thank you for another great week! First of all, I want to thank our incredible PTO for sponsoring our Dome Theater today. Be sure to ask your student about this incredible opportunity today! Every student had the chance to see a 360 degree STEM video selected by their teacher. Speaking of the PTO, please be sure to check out the Pizza Fundraiser document in the Friday folder today! Our next PTO meeting is Monday, February 5th! We hope to see you there! Speaking of seeing you there- Conferences are just around the corner in February. Please send in the preferences document that was sent home last week, if you haven't done so already, to help us schedule these meetings. If you need another form or have a question, feel free to call the office and they can help! Our goal is always to make sure we have every family at conferences to keep the great communication flowing. Part of that communication is your students progress. In the Friday folder today is a letter along with a progress report for the winter MAP assessment. The letter explains this report and the student's goal for the spring. We are seeing great growth through the first half of the year and want that to continue. One great way that all students can always work on their goal is through Compass Learning, an online program every student uses and that is linked to their ability level. Finally, I want to remind you that there is a great opportunity for all students at our Connections Community Center to talk, learn, and play every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-7 pm. We have a new opportunity starting in a couple of weeks for 4th-8th graders. See the included Chess Scholars program flyer for details- space is limited so sign up soon if you are in 4th-8th grade. Parents you are also welcome to join either our English to Spanish or Spanish to English language classes at the community center too! As always, it's a pleasure and a privilege to be your
