Ideal School Announcements

  • November 17th, 2017 Message From The Principal

Hello Ideal Families, Thank you all for your kindness and generosity with your donations to both the resale and also our Thanksgiving donations. We sincerely appreciate your willingness to support our community! Next week on Monday we have our Panther Pals assembly starting at 1:45 pm in the Gym. Also, we are very much looking forward this coming week to the movie field trip for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade on Tuesday! Of course, everyone is looking forward to Thanksgiving Break starting on Wednesday next week. Here are our Friday Folder Materials for this week: Friday Folder 11-17-17.pdf Additionally, I want to thank our PTO for organizing our Flying High Event last weekend. If you missed it, don't worry, there is another opportunity on December 9th! On Saturday December 9th, drop off your kids (ages 5 and up) at Flying High Gym in Countryside for an evening of supervised play and pizza, brought to you by Ideal PTO. This is a great way to support your school and PTO while you enjoy a quiet evening at home, a night out, or getting some holiday shopping done! The cost is $20 per child. Preregister before midnight, Thursday, Dec. 7 to receive a $5 discount for each child! To register online, go to, scroll down to the Pizza FUNdraiser category and select the Ideal PTO event from the drop-down menu. Have a wonderful weekend, Tim Sheldon Principal of Ideal Elementary PS If at all possible, when you are picking up students along 58th street at the end of the day, please pull forward as much as possible to still have a safe distance between cars, but also to allow the maximum number of people to park along the curb.

Hello Ideal Families, Thank you for another incredible week at Ideal! Today was the start of a new tradition at Ideal with our Veterans' Day Breakfast and Assembly. Our staff put together an amazing morning for veterans from across our community. We honored their service to our country in a poignant ceremony that recognized their sacrifices and the sacrifices of their families. Students were able to present their family members who have served with medals honoring them. We also recognized the millions of service members on active duty throughout the world. Please check out our social media for wonderful images related to this new tradition at Ideal. In the spirit of service, I also want to remind everyone that we are engaged in a Thanksgiving Food Drive. In addition to the flyer in our Friday Folder materials, here are details: Let’s work together as a school to create several Thanksgiving meals for local families. Here is what your grade level can bring… Preschool – Canned Green Beans or Canned Corn Kindergarten - Canned Pumpkin 1st grade – Canned Cranberries/Cranberry Sauce 2nd grade - Instant Mashed Potatoes 3rd grade - Gravy 4th grade - Boxed Stuffing 5th grade - Corn Bread Mix 6th grade - Noodles OR Mac and Cheese All items should be placed in the boxes outside your classroom. The grade level with the most participation will receive a special shout out! We will be collecting items until Friday, November 20th. Finally, don't forget that this Saturday is our Flying High Night from 7-10 pm. Ideal PTO's Flying High Pizza FUNdraiser event takes place Saturday, Nov. 11 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Support your school and PTO by dropping off your children (ages 5 and up) while you enjoy a quiet evening at home or a night out.
