  • The Bridge Home

Global Read Aloud is underway! More than half of the Gurrie students are participating in this awesome project. This year's title is The Bridge Home by Padma Venkatraman.

Global Read Aloud's philosophy is for "one book to connect the world." The premise is that for 6 weeks students from all over the world make connections and discuss the topics in the book(s).  Our students are connecting with other classrooms through the use of Flipgrid, Skype, Hyperdocs and other Google tools.

If you would like to learn more about the Global Read Aloud project here is the link: https://theglobalreadaloud.com/.

Click here for the suggested Read Aloud schedule. Teachers have their own variations of the schedule based on their connections with others.

If you would like to jump in and read this title with us and discuss it with your students please do!! The book can be found at all public libraries, Amazon, and Anderson's Bookshop. We also have a few copies in the Gurrie Library if you would like to stop in.

     Happy Reading!
