Welcome to Gurrie Middle School! I am Lorena Mendoza, and it is my honor and privilege to serve as the principal of this wonderful school community. 

Our staff at Gurrie is committed to delivering an exceptional education to every student within a nurturing and encouraging environment. 

Located in LaGrange, Illinois, Gurrie Middle School serves seventh and eighth-grade students from Hodgkins, Countryside, and LaGrange, with an enrollment of approximately 380 students. Our comprehensive academic program includes mathematics, science, social studies, language arts, reading, and a two-year world language program in Spanish or French. We utilize a block schedule, with daily 75-minute English/Language Arts and Math classes and other subjects meeting every other day, maximizing instructional time and student outcomes.

Our advisory program helps students build strong relationships and trust through regular meetings with teacher advisors. Additionally, Gurrie offers a wide array of extracurricular activities, including sports, fine arts, and various clubs, which provide a well-rounded educational experience and spark excitement in our students.

We take great pride in our Gurrie community and are dedicated to providing a quality education in a positive, supportive environment and aim to prepare our students for their high school experience.
