• What does the PTO provide to the Gurrie Community?

    Through our fundraising efforts, the PTO is able to provide the following to the students at Gurrie:

    • Provide Gurrie teachers a stipend for class related expenses at the start of each school year
    • Fund Off-site team building for 8th graders
    • Provide funds for various after-school clubs such as the Early Act Club and Every Monday Matters
    • Sponsor and fund the 8th grade graduation dance and graduation reception
    • Provide snack items to all Gurrie students on PARCC testing days
    • Honor Roll Breakfast
    • 3 End of School Ice Cream Social

    Because of parent volunteers who donate their time and service, we are able to provide the following events for the students of Gurrie:

    • Fun Lunch Snacks
    • PBIS Lunch and PBIS Store
    • Fun Nights like TGIF and Flying High
    • Bags Tournament
    • Halloween and Winter Dances
    • Graduation Video
    • Fortnightly Dance Classes

    • Concession Stand at Home Girls & Boys Basketball & Volleyball Games

    Past $5 ForKids campaigns have funded 3-D printers, television monitors for the fitness gym and books for the library, to name a few. Last year's fundraiser was for a “Genius Bar” with stools – an awesome gathering place in the Library Learning Center that will be used by students to work on projects collaboratively or individually. Three years ago, our PTO was able to donate two Bottle Filling Water Fountains for our Gurrie students, staff and families. One fountain is installed on the first floor and second fountain is on the second floor.
