Mrs. Nicole Musillami
“Mrs. Musillami, can we read the next book in the series?” “When are we starting our next novel study?” “Can you read the story I wrote and tell me what you think?” Hearing this is like music to my ears. Working with students who have such a passion for learning makes my job the best in the world. This will be my fourth year supporting advanced learners at Spring Avenue and Hodgkins Elementary Schools. In my role, I engage students in complex text, encourage high-level questioning, facilitate conversations, and promote creativity in writing. I am so grateful that I get to mentor such enthusiastic young readers and writers from two amazing schools in D105, helping them reach their goals and meet their full potential.
Prior to teaching in D105, I was a classroom teacher in Baltimore, Maryland and a literacy coach in Schaumburg, IL. My favorite hobbies include reading, crafting, going to the park with my three year old daughter, and visiting my family at the Jersey shore. My daughter, Siena, is the sunshine of my life (metaphor!). She is silly, sweet, sassy, and smart (alliteration!)….definitely all the ingredients that make up a “threenager.” My husband Tony and I have been married for 5 wonderful years. We recently sold our house and are looking to possibly move back to the LaGrange area where he grew up.

Mrs. Angie Ramey
Hello! My name is Angie Ramey and I serve Grades 3-6 at Seventh Avenue Elementary School and Ideal Elementary School. I am entering my 24th year of teaching, and my third year in D105 as an Advanced Academics ELA Specialist. I finish my MA in Teacher Leadership and Cultural Compentency from The University of Iowa in December, and have an MA in Curriculum & Instruction, and a BA in Elementary Education from Iowa. I hold Gifted Teacher, Middle School Language Arts, and Social Science endorsements. Most recently I have taught in Plainfield as a 5th Grade Accelerated/Honors ELA and Math teacher, and in Wilmette as a Differentiation Specialist.
My husband and I live in New Lenox with our dog Molly, and three cats: Peep, Meetsie, and Doodle. All of our children are either in college or married, so we are empty nesters and enjoy going to concerts, or riding our bikes for miles and miles across the Midwest, including across the state of Iowa for RAGBRAI- the world's largest, longest, oldest touring bike ride. This summer we toured the island of Kauai by helicopter! During the 18/19 school year, I will be at Seventh Avenue on Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday, and at Ideal every other Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I am so thrilled to begin our year together, and await the many adventures with new and exciting characters from places we know, and places we have yet to discover.
